The GPS® Speedhook Automatic Fishing Kit is specifically designed for survival applications or Weekend fishing trips. Beware it is so effective; it is outlawed for non-survival use in some areas. This small device is used for fishing and hunting when no food is readily available. The Speedhook is spring loaded and when a fish, or other small animal, "takes the bait", it automatically springs open setting the hook.
This Civilian Version of the Speedhook is rod ready and has the throw line detached and a larger hook. However, it is the same overall set used in Cold Weather Survival Kits of the U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army, U.S. Coast Guard, Army Reserves and others.

The Speed Hook is a ready to go right out of the package to be able to use. It works so good I bought 2 more to have in my go bag and and out doors bag when I go out in the woods.
